Part of the vast Yahoo! Community, Yahoo Personals are user-friendly and easy to understand. The navigation is a breeze and the profiles are set up so that you can read the entire contents by scrolling down the screen while still being able to see the accompanying photo. Yahoo Personals has an unusually high percentage of members who post photos for whatever reason – but who’s complaining? More information is always better!

You can browse photos and profiles by zip code, city or state and it’s practically guaranteed you’ll get several people in your area. They have separate sites for different regions of the world, such as the United States & Canada, Australia & New Zealand, and the United Kingdom & Ireland.

Breaking down the search areas by nation and having a separate database for each makes Yahoo Personals easier to use and gives you a better idea of what you can expect to find in your part of the world. The U.S. & Canada site is vast, but Australia & New Zealand has a respectable showing as well.

The “saved search” feature is especially nice. Once you’ve gone through the trouble of narrowing down your criteria (“non-smoker, 25-35, social drinker, no kids, likes to travel, yada, yada, …) you can save it so that you don’t have to start from scratch the next time you log in. In fact, you can save several.

Not sure what to put in a profile? Yahoo offers advise on how to write a great profile and headline that will intrigue and get you plenty of emails. The site also has personality tests, tips on online flirting and quite a few other articles to make things fun. This is a light-hearted, fun-loving site that’s relatively inexpensive and has a preponderance of twenty-somethings to forty-somethings who are Internet savvy. For flirtations and possibly dating, Yahoo Personals is a good bet at fair price.
